Nutrition

Good nutrition is essential to healthy living and enables children to be active participants in play and learning.

Healthy eating is promoted by the Roberta Jull Family Day Care Service and food and drinks provided by educators are nutritious and appropriate for each child.

Your educator will plan and implement a weekly menu that reflects current dietary guidelines as outlined in Policy 1.1 of Roberta Jull FDCS’s policies and procedures. It is important that you discuss your child’s food and nutrition requirements with the educator on a regular basis. Working together, families and educators build and develop children’s healthy eating habits.

Children in care will be provided with healthy, nutritious meals that strive to meet 50-60% of your child’s daily nutritional intake. The standard meals provided are: a mid-morning snack, lunch and an afternoon snack. If your child requires breakfast and/or evening meals you will need to make special arrangements with your educator.

Please be aware that you are responsible for providing babies formula/breast milk if it is required by your child. If your child has specific dietary needs, you must provide any food needed for a special diet. Please inform your educator if your child has any food allergies, intolerances or strong dislikes.
